If you’d like to work with people, build your confidence and make a meaningful impact in your community, the aged care and disability support sector is an ideal choice.

This introductory course helps you to identify the skills you already have, as well as the job requirements to work in the care and support industry, to understand the importance of person-centred care, and clarify which sector you want to work in.

You can join this course if you are:

  • a South Australian resident, or hold a valid work or study visa, and;
  • 18 years or older, and;
  • not enrolled at school or in a Flexible Learning Options program
  • preparing for work or study.

Who is this course for?

This course is suited to people who are looking for a career change, returning to work, or preparing to work in the aged care and/or disability support sector.

Explore how you can transfer your existing skills into the diverse roles in this sector. With multiple pathways for further study and employment, there are many fulfilling options for flexible working hours.

How will I learn?

This course is provided face-to-face with some online resources. It may run between 6 to 8 weeks – refer to the individual course details on the registration page.

This course is taught by a Community Learning Trainer who is there to help you in feeling confident. Working alongside them are our Community Learning Mentors who are dedicated to your individual learning journey and can offer one-on-one support if you need it.
